Nadador del Alma - A Performance by RITES with Ritual Visions

Evan Scott Sharfe’s solo project RITES is a journey into the most experimental depths of electronic music. Lovingly referred to by Sharfe himself as “sleepwave,” Sharfe’s work is characterized by soothing, dream-laden drones and extended loops that slowly descend into silence. His collaboration with local emerging video artist Jean Keuffer (AKA Ritual Visions), a DAAP graduate specializing in video art, explores the relationship between sound and image in an aquatic landscape and the ability of these two elements to convey emotion and atmosphere when paired. The result is a deep and submersing experience that takes the audience on a loosely structured journey to the depths of a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-inspired ocean and back again.
