TEACHER WORKSHOPS
Contemporary Connections
This program invites local, regional and future teachers to learn more about the connections that can be made between contemporary art and the traditional curriculum. During each workshop you will be invited to explore the exhibitions with our educational staff, participate in hands-on activities with local artists and educators, devour some delicious treats, and take home a packet that includes lesson plans and more information that can help you bring the CAC into your classroom.
These events are FREE to current educators and future educators. Space is limited.

Shepard Fairey
Discover that art isn’t just for the art room. Shepard Fairey has become a household name through his street art campaigns, iconic image of President Obama and recent art-related court appearances. Often described as a street artist, Fairey uses visuals borrowed from the propaganda of previous generations to communicate current political messages. Join our staff as we discover how Fairey is linked to Social Studies lessons and Literature. This show was the buzz of Boston when it premiered at the ICA last year--this is your chance to find out why.
