The curved floor of the Hypar Room is constructed of straight lines. The special curve is called a 'hyperbolic paraboloid," or "hypar." You can walk on the curved floor above, and crawl among the straight lines below. The artist has solved the problem of putting tables and chairs on a curved surface in six different ways.
